Please join Transition Town Port Washington, and other residents concerned about the over-development of our waterfront, at the Scoping Session for Environmental Impact Study of the proposed zoning change of parcel at 145 West Shore Road from ‘Residence-AAA’ to ‘Multiple Residence’ set forth to enable the construction of a 7-level, 176-unit multiple residence with a 29-slip public marina by Southern Land Company (SLC). This development will certainly not only change the landscape of our town but our schools, community resources (fire/police) and roads/waterways will carry the extra burden. Moreover as sea levels rise and the severity of storm surges increase we must regenerate and naturally fortify our wetlands not further develop, pollute, and deplete them.
Please consider emailing your questions/concerns prior to the MARCH 23rd meeting, planning@northhempsteadny.gov.
