What’s Your Carbon Footprint?
Transition Town Port Washington has partnered with CURE100 to bring our community its innovative Carbon Tracker App.
Our Path to 2030…
In March 2021, TTPW joined CURE100 (Communities United to Reduce Emissions 100%) in their mission to meet global goals of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to support New York State’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) as well as the most recent scientific consensus.
Because we cannot manage what we cannot measure, CURE100, a consortium of like-minded communities, developed a unique Carbon Tracker App to help individual households understand their contributions to global warming. Once completed, the Carbon Tracker App provides suggestions on how to reduce emissions at about 5% annually to reach net zero by 2040.

Our Climate Journey
Before we start on our climate journey, we need to understand where we are now and where we want to go. Knowing where we are now will give us the opportunity to explore alternate routes, and to inspire others.
Before launching the Carbon Tracker App, please click here to find out what type of information you will need to complete your household carbon assessment (e.g., electricity bill, oil/gas bill and annual usage).
By clicking the button below and starting the Carbon Tracker App, you acknowledge and agree to abide by the End User Agreement, and you understand the CURE100 Privacy Policy. Please review both before using the Carbon Tracker App.
Track Progress
The CURE100 Carbon Tracker presents a system to track progress by:
Providing a framework to measure our carbon footprint and to track improvements over time.
Dispelling myths about the carbon savings of various measures; allows us to focus on the biggest hitters.
Planting seeds in our minds for the time when big purchasing decisions present themselves (e.g., furnace replacement or car replacement).
Allowing us to track the overall progress of our community towards the goal of 5% reduction of emissions per year.
